Psychiatric Exams Sought in Detroit Case    DETROIT
-- A lawyer for a man accused of killing two police officers told a judge Wednesday
he will have an independent psychiatric evaluation done on his client after a
state expert found him competent to stand trial. Eric Marshall, 23, was
charged with murder during an arraignment hearing for the deaths of officers Jennifer
Fettig, 26, and Matthew Bowens,
21. The two were fatally shot on Feb. 16 during an early morning traffic stop.

-- A man accused if raping a 5-month-old baby
boy pleaded not guilty Tuesday. Benjamin Hardley, 50, is charged with one count of rape. Cleveland police say a woman left her son with Hardley at a Central Avenue home Saturday, and when she returned he was sexually assaulting the infant. Hardley was arrested two years ago on kidnapping, attempting rape and gross sexual imposition charges, involving a 7-year-old boy. The case was recently dismissed. - (Border Ruffian) |

Charged With Killing Dad Caught In Central Florida   Fla.
-- A 14-year-old girl on the run after being charged with murdering her father
has been arrested in Florida, authorities said. Kayla Marie LaSala had
been under house arrest at an uncle's house and fled on July 3 after removing
an electronic monitoring device from her ankle and gluing it to a cat. A tip came
in to detectives on Tuesday that she was in an Orlando, Fla., suburb with a 25-year-old
man. Kayla LaSala apparently met Troy Gilmore in a chatroom on the
Internet three months ago. She's been staying with him since July 6. Gilmore is
charged with abduction and sexual battery. He told police he had sex with LaSala,

- A man who shot and wounded a priest who had allegedly molested
him as a boy pleaded guilty to gun charges and was let off without
a prison sentence. It's a big relief," said Dontee

of other victims and the support of the community." He had already served
18 months under house arrest. A jury acquitted him in 2002 of attempted murder

N.J. -- A woman says her husband kidnapped her, held her hostage and sexually
attacked her. The woman's 15-year-old niece
also allegedly was taken hostage and sexually assaulted. Dorsia
Jackson Derek Wilds, broke into her sister's house with a gun.
Wilds allegedly held the two at gunpoint and made them walk to an abandoned apartment,
where for four days they were locked in a closet, sexually assaulted and beaten.

Newport News man in behind bars in Hampton facing charges of burglary and sexual
battery. Hampton police say 24-year old Jason Rashad Taylor broke into a house in the 300 block of Union Street Tuesday just after 12 noon and committed several acts of sexual battery. N.C. -- Durham police were looking for a man being tried on kidnapping and malicious
castration charges who fled from the courthouse during a break in his trial.

Teen Murder Suspect Appears In Court   Monday,
a 15-year-old suspect accused of shooting a man during a robbery after the victim
stopped to ask directions appeared in court. Police arrested Twain Demario
Vaughn, 15, on Friday. He was accused of murdering Kristopher
Carlyle after Carlyle and his family got lost while driving around
south Nashville Wednesday night. When the family stopped to ask for directions
they were robbed by four males.Aspiring country musician shot, killed after car makes wrong turn A North Carolina man who moved to Nashville to follow his dreams in country music was shot dead in front of his family over $10. All of a sudden a group of young teens approached their car and Kristopher asked them for directions. “I asked them again how to get on the right road back into town. A fourth boy came up, and I saw a gun and he held it to my son's throat,” said Smith. She says all they had was a $10 on them and gave it to the gunman, but it wasn't enough. “He shot my son right here over ten dollars. (AP) -- A convicted serial rapist took a woman prison counselor hostage for more
than six hours at a state prison before he was killed by a sharpshooter. Scott
A. Miller, 45, was believed to have a homemade knife when he took the woman
hostage in the maximum security area of the Delaware Correctional Center and negotiations
continued through late afternoon. Miller was sentenced to 699 years for a series
of rapes in which nine women were assaulted.

were seeking a young black man in the rape of an 80-year-old woman Kacy Cannon, 30, is charged with aggravated rape in the trial. Cannon's DNA was entered into a computer pool after he was convicted of another crime. The DNA from the semen on the pantyhose matched Cannon's, and he was then arrested and charged. Authorities said a man asked the elderly woman for a drink of water, then he pushed her inside and raped her on a couch. Va. -- One man is under arrest and a second is being sought by police in a rape
that happened along a bike path in Alexandria. The 22-year-old Alexandria woman
was assaulted at gunpoint by two men as she walked along the path. Officers arrested
Jose Daniel Bonilla, 28. Officers have identified the second suspect as
Rigoberto Ramos, 23. He sometimes goes by "Barbito" and sometimes
uses the alias Ismael Alberto Murcia. He's described as a Hispanic

Councilman Claudio Ochoa, Jr to enter guilty plea to indecency with a child A
Jacinto City councilman will officially plead guilty to indecency with a child.
Last month, Claudio Ochoa Junior reached a plea agreement and it was official
Friday morning. Ochoa is guilty of indecency with a child. Claudio Ochoa, Jr.
is accused of sexually assaulting a teenaged student at Galena Park High School
during school hours. He worked as a substitute teacher at Galena Park high school.

Texas: Police seeking Tuc Narin Inthisan in shooting  Homicide
investigators are turning up the heat on a murder suspect still on the lam after
a deadly shooting Sunday. The Special Crimes Unit released a mug shot and additional
information about Tuc Narin Inthisan. He is wanted in the July 4 shooting
of 23-year-old Don Scholz of Amarillo,
who died Tuesday from his injuries. Inthisan is described as a 22-year-old

Milwaukee men were charged with beating a 14-year-old boy into a coma at a playground
last week while more than a dozen people looked on. Timothy Owens, 31,
faces one count of first-degree reckless injury. According to a criminal complaint,
Owens struck the victim, Tyrin Douglas,
in the head with a two-by-four as the boy was on his back trying to shield himself
from kicks and punches. The other two men, Mario Brown, 21, and Davell
Going, 22, were charged with physical abuse of a child. - (

of aiding and abetting statutory rape have been filed against a woman whose pregnant
11-year-old daughter was taken to Mexico five years ago by the father
of her child. Wanda Pevia "knew her daughter and this guy had a relationship
