Father of 7 -Year-Old Charged in her Murder Police have charged a father with the murder of his seven-year old daughter. She was found stabbed to death inside a Catholic school. Her name was Jerica and police have now arrested her father, 27-year-old Christopher Rhodes. They are charging him with the second degree murder. At around 9:30 Thursday morning, a custodian found her bloody body inside the Sacred Heart of Jesus School. Police say she was stabbed to death in a vicious fit of rage. Rhodes is a former high school basketball star, and the son of the former Highland Falls police chief. He is currently on probation for a misdemeanor drug posession. - (Brewski) |
L.A. train crash suspect Juan Manuel Alvarez charged with murder - 11 killed, two dozen critical   Juan Manuel Alvarez, who lived in a converted garage behind her sister’s home in suburban Compton, told the court her husband had damaged her family’s property and threatened to seek revenge on people he suspected of introducing her to another man. She said his drug use was triggering hallucinations. Donovan Despanie Arraigned for Rape of 92-Year-Old Woman A 19-year-old accused of raping an elderly woman in a nursing home has been arraigned on charges of aggravated rape. Donovan Despanie was employed at the Evangeline Oaks Guest House in October of last year when he allegedly raped a 92-year-old woman who resided in that facility. Police Need Help Finding Man Charged With Murder  Police said a suspect charged with the capital murder of two men inside a southwest Houston home remains on the run Wednesday, Local 2 reported Tuesday. Officers said Terrence Glenn Mosley, 27, shot two men he had gotten into a fight
with inside a home on Mayview near Duboise on the night of Jan. 19.

Former New Miami auxiliary police officer surrendered on sex charges involving a 15-year-old girl Joseph E. Ferguson, 21, of Hamilton, was indicted last week on two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He turned himself in to Butler County Common Pleas Judge Keith Spaeth and was released from jail after posting $25,000 bail. Ferguson is accused of having sex with the teen twice last summer, court records show. An assistant prosecutor, said Ferguson and the teen met in February 2004 on the Internet, where Ferguson portrayed himself as a 17-year-old Middletown High student. Jury selection to begin in multiple murder and sexual abuse case
 Attorneys were to begin screening jurors Tuesday in the multiple murder trial of Marcus Wesson, a domineering patriarch who allegedly controlled his family with religious teachings, incest and threats of mass suicide. Wesson, 57, was the only one to emerge alive from the back bedroom of the modest one-story house at the end of a tense, hours-long standoff. Police discovered nine bodies in a bloody tangle and ten white coffins stacked against the living room walls. Tyrone Davis smirks after plea deal where 14 rape charges were dropped - only gets 18 years Tyrone Davis admitted in court that he raped several women. He pleaded guilty to four rapes, along with aggravated robbery and burglary. The other 14 rape charges were dropped. Instead of imposing the maximum sentence of 60 years, the prosecution and defense agreed to 18 years in prison.

Brooklyn principal who had sex with an 8-year-old girl skipped out on $100,000 bail Under a deal with prosecutors, Leroy Johnson had pleaded guilty to sexual conduct against a child and was to get 12 years in prison. But when he failed to appear, Queens Supreme Court Justice Barry Kron sentenced him in absentia to 20 years and ordered a warrant for his arrest. Johnson was principal of Public School 25 in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Prosecutors believe he had sex with the girl, now 14, for six years and had threatened she would be "placed in an orphanage" if she told authorities. Suspect in year-old slaying of West Boca nanny in N.C. jail on sex charge Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office detectives on Friday said they are going to charge a 28-yearold man who is being held in a North Carolina jail with the murder of a nanny west of Boca Raton. The suspect, Jerry Wiggins, is being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail in Charlotte on rape, burglary and kidnapping charges. Detectives announced at a morning press conference that they have more than enough evidence to charge Wiggins with the kidnapping, rape and murder of Peruvian-born Monica Rivera Valdizan. Wiggins is also now a suspect in a Coral Springs rape. |
Vancouver police ask for public's help in locating rape suspect Wash. - Vancouver detectives have probable cause to arrest a man for rape, but need the public's help in locating the suspect. Police say Derrick Sandy raped a 19-year-old Vancouver woman in her home on Jan. 4 after he followed her home from a bus stop. The woman told police her attacker pushed her inside, raped her and burglarized her home. Sandy is 33-years-old, black, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has black hair and eyes. Femesha Foster Sentenced To 20 Years putting rat poison in her White boss's soda to cover up her embezzlement  A Miami woman received a 20-year prison sentence for putting rat poison in her boss's soda to cover up her embezzlement. Femesha Foster is almost at the end of a five-year prison sentence for grand theft. The Judge sentenced her to 20 years in prison, minus the time she has already served. Foster was found guilty of poisoning for dropping the toxic mix into optometrist Mark Caruso's drink. Foster worked as a technician for Caruso at a Wal-Mart store. Champion Cop-Killer Pleads Guilty   The man accused of killing a Des Moines police officer has pleaded guilty in Seattle to first-degree murder in a plea bargain to avoid a possible death penalty. Charles Champion, 22, will be sentenced Jan. 5 in King County Superior Court. Champion initially was charged with aggravated murder in theMarch 2001 shooting that took the life of Officer Steven Underwood. He was killed after he radioed he was stopping Champion and three others on Pacific Highway South. - (Gman)

Former Shreveport Officer Found Guilty of Rape Fredrick Harris, a former Shreveport police officer has been found guilty of raping a woman he stopped for a traffic violation. Harris stopped a vehicle while on patrol and took the 25-year-old Shreveport woman into custody then drove the woman to a different location where he allegedly forced her to have sex. In July 2002, Shreveport police say Harris was transporting a 14-year-old girl from a youth shelter to her home when he allegedly pulled his patrol car next to a vacant building and attempted to have sex with her. Cleveland School Guard Arrested In Rape Of 2 Girls A Cleveland school security guard has been arrested in the rape of two girls ages 15 and 16. Derrick Davis, 41, was arrested Monday and arraigned Wednesday. He's been on unpaid leave from Max Hayes High School since the allegations emerged last month. The alleged rapes occurred at the school in December 2003 and last November.

Rapper Mystikal sentenced to six years for forcing his hair stylist to perform sex acts BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (AP) -- Michael Tyler, better known as the rapper Mystikal, was sentenced to six years in prison Thursday for forcing his hair stylist to perform sex acts. Tyler, 33, who pleaded guilty to sexual battery, was taken from court in handcuffs. The victim accused Tyler and two bodyguards of forcing her to perform oral sex after they accused her of stealing $80,000 worth of his checks. She denied stealing any money. The bodyguards also pleaded guilty to sexual battery. Leland "Pokie" Ellis, 37, received three years in prison, and Vercy "V" Carter, 35, got four. - (Brewski) |
Melvin Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison For Rape of a 74-year-old woman SAN ANTONIO -- A 29-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for the rape of a 74-year-old woman. Melvin Lewis pleaded no contest in December 2004 to sexual assault charges after a jury deliberated 18 hours without a verdict.

Reward Offered For Missing 5-Year-Old - Emily Rimel Disappeared Dec. 7  COLUMBUS, Ohio -- There is another plea from a Franklin County family to help find a missing 5-year-old girl. Emily Rimel disappeared from her Madison Township apartment in the early morning hours of Dec. 7. Dispite a widespread search effort, she has not been seen or heard from since. Police arrested Lindsey Bruce, 23, and charged him with raping the girl. There is a $12,000 reward for information that leads to Emily's whereabouts.
